Since all my flowerhorns (4-5) were doing fine after skipping a day food to let their stomach rest for a day.

But my current member has different structure that I thought, when I skip for one day, he is getting constipation with white stringy poop.

But he is getting better after breaking the fast and when I feed the pallets...

Any thoughts Or observation to write here? Ty all!

Thanks, good question, on the fasting day, I dont feed anything! But yeah, normally I feed veggies, like green peas, banana, plum, the regular pallets are Hikari Gold, Hikari Frozen Dried Krill, FD blood worms, Tetra baby shrimp dried ( All these as a treat!) but pallets are regular

Hello; The bananas and plum are new foods to me. The peas I have used without problems and the others sound like commercial foods. My first thought was high fat content food.

You might try a rotation of the foods by not feeding one for a week or so. Then take another out of the feeding rotation and so on.

Is it possible that some sort of insect got into the tank or someone else threw something in the tank?

Oh! Yes. Its possible, I did not cover the tank for few and It might be possible that he ate some bugs!! Very good observation.. Thanks a lot..

And yes Plum and banana are my day first food and he eats like Monkey lol!!

Just now I can see he is popping regular but few! Will see and update here....

Update!!
Poo is regular brown with bit white in color, belly looks good!

Dont laught, but he was not pooping almost since morning, I played with him very hard and he became crazy in tank, I was rotating my hand in all over the tank from outside and he as chasing it and banging the head, it pressurized him to poop finally.. LOL!
But its true that exercise lets him o be active and to release constipation!!! My personal obsercation just now

Thanks Matt! My FH wants to be fed like a bulldog.. I am not able to pass one day without feeding him, he jumps to the top for asking the food and just lingering near to the spot where I feed him.. It's really trouble to skip one day but I am doing it regularly!

What kind of fish world do this? Are there fish gyms in the wild also? Of course not!
What kind of fish starves itself for fasting? None. This is all made up from human brain bs.

Feed everyday with the proper amount. If you want to fast or whatever you call it, at least give him a little food for the day if you have a chance. Yes they can starve for a month, but you can starve and not eat for a few days too. You still live and do anything, but how does it feel?

Thanks for the opinion!
Your reply made me think over! I was thinking the same that in wild which fish do the fast or they don't eat.. not sure.. But problem with the tank is, they have limited space to waste their energy.
Also, bigger tank the better, this one is more in conjunction for their exercise... But anyway, I am thinking to reduce the protein based food and to feed him all natural kind of pallets, I meant balance formula...
