so i picked up a pair of bass couple weeks ago or so, and they were doing alright fir the first week or so, but lately ive noticed there super skittish....but if i sit away form the tank maybe 5 ft they are ok, but if i get closer to the tank to see them they freak out and will fire around in the tank form one end to the other and hide under the intake of my filters or under a powerhead... BUT when there hungry they come up the the surface looking for food and such.... will this go away after time ? i know that if i put some things in there for em to hide they will hide all the time and id never seen em until one day these 2 MASSIVE fish swim out from behind something lol

They will sure grow out if it. They will learn that you are the source of their food and warm up to you. Good call on not add decore to the tank. As the more decore you have in the tank, the more they will hide. Add some dither to the tank as well to coax them out more. I always like geos, tin foil barbs or any other sand/gravel cleaners.

Ya all I have in the tank is some driftwood two fake plants (not bushy at all) and a 5"x12" pvc pipe for the BGK and bichir hide in all the time
