so i have a handfull of baby jaguars growing out in a 65 gallon tank.. it has a bunch of terra cotta pots for cover for them. im waiting for them to hit maturity and pair off so i can keep a breeding pair and right now they are about 1.5" to about 2.5" long and they are so afraid of me its ridiculous... when i walk in the room they all go and hide and wont come back out unless i sit still for about 5 minutes at about 10 feet from the tank, and even if i as much as itched my eyebrow theyd all go darting back to hiding. im feeding them nls cichlid formula and they seem to be making the transition onto it pretty well. ive had them for about 2 weeks or so and im not noticing any improvement on this. for lighting the tank has a marineland double bright led on it, and the jaguars are from liveaquaria. what do you guys think? is it just because their babies?

yea dithers will help.get some gold barbs,or something that won't grow too fast or big,a 65 is gonna be tight as they fill out.i would also check you water parameters to be safe.as they grow you might need to add more filtration

It is normal they show themselves very skittish, Jaguars are Top predators in their native ecosystem however at that size they are highly vulnerable so their instinct is programmed that way: They escape from everything that can constitute a threat to their integrity.

When they hit some given size they should become more secure.

Cheers.
