skunk loach slow growth rate?

So about a little over a year ago I was at petco with my dad to help him stock his 45 octagon tank. While looking I was also searching for cory cats until I spotted these two brown and black blurs in with ram cichlids. I read the tag saw they were skunk loaches and ive researched them before so I bought them now a year later they went from 1/2 inch to 2 1/2 is this due to stunting or do they have a slow growth rate like clown loaches?

Btw the tank is and was a 29 gallon tank.

Mine is also about 2/2.5". I haven't noticed any growth in from him in the year an half I've had him.

So it seems like it might be a while before they even come close to being 4 inches.

Ive had them close to three years and I only see aggression among the two which is scarce

well i had about 15 in a 125g. i got them b/c i liek loaches and they were only 1.50 @ petco. they were nightmares but fun
