I got a group of 6 slunk loaches on Friday. I’ve seen one or two twice since late Friday. I know they are nocturnal, but I figured I’d get a bit more activity. The tank is loaded with hiding spots. Is this normal for them to hide this much, or did something happen to them?
They’re with mbunas, but I’ve never really seen them even attempt to eat a fish, and they make a show out of killing (so I would have noticed).

Welcome to loaches.
Skunk loaches are notorious for hiding. I have had a few over the years and wound up getting rid of them because I never saw them.

Update: Loaches are out and about now. Never all at once, but now that they’ve adjusted they are adding some much needed movement!
Now if I could find the pleco I threw in there...

It turns out there are also a couple of y eos with them. Are they too mean or peaceful for skunks, or just about the same?

I found my eos to be too nippy and boisterous even for my skunk botia so had to move my 6 eos into a tank of their own. Just keep an eye on them for now, you may find they behave.
