slant bar knife Gymn. anguillaris ??

if it really is anguillaris, it's a rare find, so pick that bad boy up. As far as I know, treat 'em like a carapo and they'll be happy.

Which one is in that pic? That is not the one in the store. Also, I'm going off the one pictured in Axelrod's mini-atlas.

How aggressive are they? The Atlas says they are aggressive but then it says that an Aba Aba is a community fish. LOL Would they be okay with Poly's? Do they eat snails?

I have no idea what they go for & there aren't many odd balls around here so when there is something it's usually over priced. If it is a carapo, is $20. a good deal for a 6"er ?

If you don't see knives like that often.. $20 is a great deal. Many importers dont like dealing with the carapo knives because they beat each other up in shipping and holding. lots of losses, inflates price.. or makes them harder to get.

I would try to get some pics and post them.. check out the Gymnotus species ID thread here in this forum, has a ton of great ID pics..

Carapos can be aggressive, Aba's are worse.. They might eat snails, but love worms.
