Since starting my pond up I have noticed some behaviors that I have never seen before while keeping fish in a tank. Basically, when it gets dark out there all the fish go to the bottom and just sit on there bottom fins, they are still exhibiting full color, and they do not seem to be "breathing" heavily or otherwise labored in any way. When I go to feed them again in the morning they are fully active and back to normal. Should I be worried, is this something that fish do when they are in the wild and are just now exhibiting those behaviors because they are in a large body of water? Thanks in advance guys and gals!

what does that have to do with my questions?

No idea however my fish in the 5ft tank does that but its kinda over crowded and the texas bashes everyone so i think they are just tired from running around and then when i come they all come to the top for food.

this is why mixing large catfish with cichlids is bad, at night when the cats get active, the cichlids are sleeping at the bottom. hence "they were all there last night when i went to bed, i wonder what happened to my oscar"

thanks perfect, you have helped me tremendously once again!

My fish do that in my tanks. They just sit there(eyes open and everything) but just not move at all. All of them do this besides the bullhead catfish. The gars would be "sleeping" and the catfish would eat the fins and tail of the gars. It was sad, and that's why the gars are in the 125 and the nocturnal catfish in his 56.

lol you know a fish cant "close" its eyes right.
