if it had somewhere to get out of the water, would a red ear slider be able to live with some big fish?

like a silver aro and clown knifefish.

turtles are fish eaters but if its with fast fish that you dont mind them getting eaten/attacked you could risk it

an adult RES? or a baby? my adult is pretty calm around bigger fish, unless he gets hungry but hes so fat he cant do anything. my baby turtle just keeps to himself mostly.

just seen this post they would be expensive to lose

It's a big risk. I've kept some sliders with fish and never had problems, and other sliders have killed every fish put in with them (eventually). I wouldn't do it with valuable fish.

i've made that mistake with broaches and eels

First every aquatic turtle needs a palce to get out of the water. Reptiles are thermoregulatory animals. Also they could develop shell rot if not allowed to completey dry off. You could try, but might not be a great idea. I have two aqautic turtles and only two fish that were meant for feeding ever survived, let's make that one now. They finally got a hold of the seconfd fish when he got bigger, but one is still left and they seem not to bother him and he even eats there food with them.
