slight mold (fungus) on Stingrays barb

I recently bought a marble motoro stingray. the person who I bought my stingray off caught her in a net but the net got stuck on her barb. We had to cut the net, then just before I put the stingray into her new home I managed to pull the net off with one tug. The stingray has being in my tank for a couple weeks & seams happy enough but today I have noticed there is two pieces of white mold on her stinger. Is this anything to worry about ? Will it need treating has anybody else had his problem. The stingray is been kept in a 8ft 30" tank the water & filter on the tank are good. There is a 2ft long red tail golden in with her - has anybody got any good advice for me - Thanks

I have seen little bits of white fungus on barbs before, its usually not something to worry about. Give it a few days and if it doesn't go away treat with salt, usually that's all it takes. If it spreads beyond the base of the barb onto the tail then its something to be concerned about.

I agree with John. I had it on my Henlei's and salt and Melafix did the trick. It came back again after 2 weeks and the second time I just used salt and it went away for good.
