Alright I have a bit of an issue here, I think.

I recently moved into a very old building (1920's?), and I'm on the second floor. I measured everything out and placed my 40 gallon breeder in the best possible location for weight distribution. However, the floor has changed a bit after the tank was set up, as I expected it to. But it's very odd.

I bought a workbench as the stand and got it together. I have the tank entirely full, but nothing in it yet, no fish, no sand.

Right now it appears that the front (room side) of the workbench is about 2 millimeters higher than the back. and the entire right side is 1 millimeter higher than the left side. It sounds as though this will "warp" the glass but the weight seems to be distributed evenly in places.

Should I be concerned about this and drain the tank out, starting over? It's a 40g breeder, so it's short and "fat". I'm not really sure what to do here.

My floors are all ancient and wonky, too. I get them level by putting thin pieces of wood or other hard material under the stand, on the carpet. If you try to put anything directly under the edge of the tank, it can break. That said, your difference is pretty slight and I wouldn't personally worry about it with a tank of only 40 gallons. Heck, my 75 is in the basement 3/4 full and it's leaning a little forward and to the left. Doing fine.

Yeah, I corrected it a few times when I had it 1/6th of the way full. There's a folded up shirt under the back right leg and a 1/2" wood block under the front right leg, because at that time there was a half inch dip on those areas of the floor. After filling it fully though, the left side of the tank that was fine to begin with dipped down further than expected

I was hoping the difference in level wasn't enough that I'd have to jack the stand up next time I do a water change, I may have to slightly adjust it in the future though :(

Thanks for the input so far!

If your concerned about it just shim the stand a bit i use wood and old news papers to do so and with it being only a 40 u should have to empty it all the way to do so.
