SOUTHERN CALI.
my green terror female got stressed from the move and had ich butt i added medication and she seems to be over it cuz no more white spots i have been medicating for the last week but now has no slime coat like fish usually do im not one to touch my fish on a regular basis but from what i know they are usually slimy and mine has no slime coat feels really scaly im worried for her survival she swims back more then often and irregular behavior on a regular basis any advise water is at about 82f and has a power head with normal water peramiters but still seems stressed no idea what is causing it.

add some medication to repair her slime coat like mela/pimafix cant remember which one but itll say on the bottle

try it out and if it doesnt seem any better after 1-2 days try what I suggested because that a for sure fix, I used it for my GT and it worked like a charm

k thanks i will try that out i have never had ich in my tank and when i got it i was devisteated now its gone and im so happy, only gt is showing singns of streess after the treatment :(

whats the tank size water paremeters and what other fish do you have in the tank? if its too small it could also be stressing it out, what I noticed is that GT's and Oscars are very prone to getting ich in tank thats too crowded or small

yeah i noticed the same it was in a 125 with two jags and a florida gar but i split it up into a 30 gal its only about 3 to 4 inch and has plenty of hiding space the only tank mate is a 2 inch gt male i added about a week ago when the move was over i know its kinda small for them but they leave each other alone its just a grow out tank till the male reaches a nice size... dont want him to get eaten by the 10 inch gar or the 9 or 10 inch jaguar

30 would be fine for the two while theyre this small if a 55 is ok when its full grown, so i think ti was just the move and the residual affects is the depleted slime coat just try the melafix if your other stuff doesnt work and it should be fine

ok yeah thanks i have been doing 20% water changes and adding meds on a daily basis like it says on the directions and ich is gone yey... lol but that was my only concers since it seems to be the worst out of all of my fish well thanks for the advise i will get the melafix tomorrow as a backup and if it works ill just have it on hand i hear good things about it and im glad i had the quick cure on hand after the move

unfortunately i lost my green terror, i think she might have had internal parasite or something as she found a hole in an ornament and chose it as her last resting place, it was a battle getting her to eat. always seemed to be swimming backwards or sidways never seen this behavior before. then finally a cuple days after ich was gone just gave up

on a more positive note i have now started growing out a couple in a 30 gal they still really tiny and im not sure about the sexes but im pritty sure one is a boy and the other is a girl
