Don't know whats wrong with him but hes been off and on like this for a month. Not eating like he usually does but still eating. I've been adding pimafix and melafix every other day and doing 50% waterchanges weekly. Hes about 1' and in a 60gallon (I know its small) but I've got a sponge filter in their powered by a strong powerhead, a marineland 400, and a cascade canister filter rated for a 100gallon tank. Don't know what the problem is. Temperature is around 78-79* which has always worked before for him. Doesn't look like HITH to me even though it is affecting that area of him. I just don't know how to treat it if I don't know what it is.

What is it..?

Check your P.H. ASAP, Sounds low....Slowly add sodium bi carb to remedy this issue, if it is the PH....Good luck bro...

I'll check my parameters.

I just did maybe 30% waterchange only because I didn't want to drastically change the water so much. What should I do now..? Consistent 30% waterchanges for the next 3-4 days and feed little-none..?

I want to clean and empty the canister filter I've got on his tank but I'm worried if I do I will destroy most of the "good bacteria." Would it be alright to rinse and scrub it all down since I've got a big HOB and sponge filter or should I wait until the ammonia drops to change/clean the filter media?

wow after his water change.. His colors back, his skin isn't all peeling looking anymore, and there aren't 16,000 bubbles stuck to him any more. I usually change his water every sunday, maybe I should start doing it twice a week.

Good job man...Low ph, midas' skin melts...Just do a 30% a day for the next few days, until all perams are in check..Leave the bio media as is, maybe swish it in tank water. You can clean the sponges in the cannister...
