With PVC fittings do you prefer slip or threaded? Why?
I actually prefer slip fit.

You can cut the pipe to what ever length you need where as, unless you have a die to cut new threads, you have to take whatever length the threaded pipe comes in and make it fit your application.

I found in the past that when I tried to take threaded fittings apart they would gall and I'd have to get new ones anyway.

Slip connections are generally easier for assembly, but screw connections provide easier removal and replacement with a minimum of cutting. I guess it depends on how confident/happy you are with your plumbing skills :).

slip if it's permanent (PVC cement); threaded if it might need to be removed. For example, the drain on my tank has a slip x threaded elbow cemented to it, so the external plumbing isn't irreversibly fused to the bulkhead fitting.

I prefer threaded. They can be reused.

It all depends on the PSI, if its not much then i would use slip but if the PSI is alot then i would go with threaded and a higher rating of PVC.
