I have one texas in a 29 gal and it seems to be growing really really slowly not even half an inch a month i was just wondering if there was anything that i could do to get it to grow faster i know a bigger tank would help but space is limited

i do a 50% water change everyweek

and he is fed flakes which im about to switch over to hikari gold pellets

but im open for suggestions...

thanks,
-jay

give him some live treats every so often, guppies, wiggler worms, or frozen blood worms.

I read the title and was a bit taken by surprise that Texas growing too slow was any sort of problem

Then I realized I wasn't in the lounge and I don't usually mess with Texas on fridays

But yeah for sure get that fool off flakes and get some more protein in his diet like some krill that will also help his coloring

Feed him some live nightcrawlers u can get them at walmart and yeah a larger tank will help him grow hikari gold is a great staple food.
