Small aboveground pond

I was given this as a gift while I save for a bigger rubbermaid pond. It is about 35g. Is there anything else I would need to get in order to house fish? I am putting small tetras in it. Would a heater made for a 75g tank be able to heat it to 75 in the e Texas winter?

i would use a 300watt heater. put the pond on top of styro and also have an insulating cover. you could use styro for that as well. still an outdoor heated pond is going to put a nice size dent in your electric bill even at that size. id also get a powerhead and plumb to sometype of bio filtratrion. you can buy a small rubbermaid tub stuff it with scrubbies and have it dump back into your pond. it will be an eye sore though.

Right now i'm in the process of adding fish to a completely plant filtered tub pond.
