I was looking for something around 3" that will eat some algae.
Fancy plecos are cool but they are pretty expensive for the really small ones. I'm thinking about getting around 3 or 4 ghost shrimp. But I was wondering if there is some really cool bottom feeders that I don't know about?

I do not like Cory Catfish!

If you are meaning something to 'clean' your tank from algae, your best solution;

Fish that feed upon algae as part of their diet should also be supplemented with extra food stuffs such as veggies, waffers, frozen foods along side bogwood to rasp on (for some of the plec species). No fish should be added to combat your algae problem.

If your wanting an algae eating species just to add to the tank for your own entertainment, would it be possible to post what tank mates you have for it, and also your tank set up-it will help others to suggest species that are suitable for what you are providing. I have a few species in mind, but they all have different requirements ;)

29gallon: 5 Badis, 3 gold Tetra, more coming soon.
Emperor 400 filtration system

I'm not sure why you wrote all that for a response to my question.
I don't have a algae problem and I am a experienced fish keeper.

if you want an algae eater that size try getting a chinese algae eater. dont grow more than like three inches or somthing, but then again, they dont eat a lot of algae:)
try getting a snail. o ya and ghost shrimp dont clean your tank. some other species of shrimp will tho. hope this helps!

wait a minute, you said bottom feeders?
if you want a really cool bottom feeder get a crayfish. they will probably kill all ur fish if they get big enough, so if you dont want that to happen get dwarf crayfish. but if ur just looking to get a cool bottom feeder to keep with only others of its species, definitely get a crayfish

Jag, Ash is only trying to help because she has her best interests at heart for the fish. Cories aren't algae eaters anyway. Assuming your temperature does not exceed over 78, then you can have the Garra flavatra. What about the otos? You must be careful as these are sensitive to water conditions. Your other options are nerite snails and brigs.

No, they grow to 10 inches despite being slow growers. These are not appropriate for the 29g and can become nastier as they mature.

Oto cats or rubber lip pleco.

L104, ottos, def. no Chinese Algae eaters.
