Skip the story and go directly to part three of you can help me fix this chipped glass or advise me from your experience of my options.

Read the story if you have nothing better to do and feel free to either relate or poke fun at me.

PArt one

So, I found this 40 gal long aquarium for 60 bucks with a bunch of stuff and a stand on craigslist. and I'm thinking "hey I can find a use for that! Maybe a mudskipper brackish tank.. or something, I must have it"

It turns out that the aquarium was waaaaaayyyy out in the middle of nowhere prineville oregon, an hour from where I live in Bend.. but still hey, what the heck, I'm up to see what this is. I meet the seller at the grocery store in town because he says "directions are a little tricky" To which I reply no worries, I have a GPS, just give me the address" No, He insists on meeting me to follow him so I do.-I get there.. Follow him out of town where the deer and antelope play.. out into nowhere- the land of the prineville resevoir. We go offroad ten minutes in a maze of trails to get to his house. Check the tank out, sold! This is no rockstar tank yet.. but I can work with it.. it's worth the $. Wonderful people too!

PArt two

After we load the tank into my Jeep (and thank god for the Jeep Liberty) I realize that I had failed to pay attention to the exact route we traveled to get to his house down that maze of Dirt roads.. "no worries" I think, I have a GPS;) Turn it on and head for home.. I notice that it wants to take me a slightly different way than the way I got there and the cattle gates gps and I passed through only confirmed that we were taking a smarter short cut and more direct path for about 45 minutes of what looked like a jeep commercial and thought.. "How bad could it get? I hate to give up. I did the best I could but my new aquarium got dinged twice by the iron stand it came with.. and please.. I know it's because of me.

Part three.. Home atlast!

What!@#$%!@$%

MFK'ER!!!!!!!
I chipped the aquarium glass on this tank about 5 inches from the top.

it's not glass that's directly in the seam. so there's a seal inside, just a chip outside on the edge, weakening it.. I'm thinking a strong two part epoxy to just seal the chip in there and when that dry's some aquarium sealant. Any luck with this.. Maybe you can see from the picture. I haven't cleaned the tank yet and the picture sucks. But please help

It looks like the chip is not all the way through the glass. I had a chip in a 125 years ago. My x and I got into a fish any things got thrown. Well in the end the 125 suffered a chip on the bottom left corner. The chip was not all the way through the glass. The seal was not broken and it never leaked. I did not find the chip or I would have replaced it. If you have the chip then I would replace it just for aesthetics. If not then you can just use some aquarium sealant to fill in the chip.

Discloser: My 125 did not leak after it was chipped, but that does not mean yours will not, nor am I in any way saying that the chip did not violate the seal. I did not read the story seeing how I have had a few.
