Since there is a Black Friday thread already wanted to see if anyone else is boycotting the crass commercialism of the big box stores and supporting the local businesses in your community. I will never step foot in a Walmart but instead give my business to locals who will reinvest it in my community, not stockpile it offshore somewhere. Give a shout out to any small businesses you plan to support.

I try to do this but not just once a year... I try everytime I can when time allows me too. Example- I got a quote for tires at a spot in Down Town Los Angeles... took the quote to a local tire shop and told the mngr "wanted to know if you were looking to keep business local since Im a local resident, here is a quote for what Imm looking for"
Approved!
Not all say yes but hey... we are all trying to spend as little as possible on ANYTHING so both parties are happy... they get bizz and I get my product haha.

I do support local small or business in general... I pay taxes in my city too:headbang2

Everytime I buy something I try to get it from a mom and pop shop. If I cant find a local business I go through Amazon if I dont need to see it before buying. Not shopping this weekend but bought my mom something a local shop called The Cooper Butterfly last weekband getting a rebuild kit for my wifes shower at a locally owned supply house this weekend.

why pay more to support the local smaller guys?

they dont deserve my dough. keep on raising the prices on your sandwiches and sodas. my local kmart went out of business.

Our family owns a mom and pop shop we have a strong local community. Its a pharmacy and a cvs is down the road. We have lots of loyal customers bringing in their friends and family thats why we are still in business.

K-mart is a national discount chain, being in your town does not make them a local business. But if all you care about is yourself and getting poorly made crap as cheap as possible then enjoy yourself at Wally World, just don't complain when they are the only game in town and raising prices too.
