Hello MFK,

I recently picked up a 25 gallon long Truvu acrylic tank for fairly cheap. Once I got home and filled it up I noticed a small crack and some bowing going on in the back. I've attached some pics of the crack and bowing. Is this tank junk?? I am expecting a Ranchu goldfish to be delivered soon and I want to make sure it will be alright before it arrives.

The crack is a centimeter long and about an inch above the water line. The crack goes to the black sharpie mark in the pictures.

Thanks in advance!

I was wondering since the tank bows, would it eventually crack even more? My other Truvu tanks bow as well, but they seem to have a stronger support, being that they are larger aquariums?

Bracing seems pretty poorly designed in that back filter slot. I would use some acrylic adhesive to reweld that crack and glue in some extra support if you don't plan on hanging a filter there.

i plan on just replacing it all together, i dont want to deal with a messed up tank in the future lol.. thanks guys!

Chop up the tank to use as kids for your next tank. It could also be a serviceable sump if you use some Weldon with the top seam.
