Small fader / ZZ RD ??

Here's my new FH. He's a little squirt at about 3-4" at the moment.

I know he looks a bit of a mess colour-wise at the moment, but I am pretty sure that he is in mid-fade.
Several weeks ago I owned, for a few weeks, another FH from the same batch, which was definately a fader.
Looks to me like this fish has started to fade around the chest/belly area and on parts of the face and his sides (towards the front). I'm hoping that this will develop. No idea what he's going to turn out like though !!!

Got a nice little kok going too.

I'm not too bothered either way though, as he is a pet first and foremost, and he has a great, confident and outgoing nature.

Any thoughts on his fading, or what he might become ?

Thats what mine is doing, started in front and is working its way back.

Nice fins, He needs to beef up and he will look great.
Its a male ZZmalua. Half faded.
With good care, I'd bet he will look something like this when he grows up.

Now he's in a big tank, on his own, and eating for England, so I expect him to beef up in no time !

I do hope he turns out something like yours. Outstanding !!

Either way, I'll be very pleased !

I'm no expert on faders at all, but doesn't my fish's current state indicate that he might keep his flowers ? It sort of looks like he has already faded at the front of his flower line, and the flowers there are still visible.

I'll definately be keeping a picture diary of his progress, so we'll all find out in the end !!

I hate that they loose their flowers though when they fade.
