My female marble motor has a small hole in her disc about the size of a cigarette, she is healthy and active, all the water parameters are good.. Do you think my male could have done this or what? I've had the pair a year, and the only tank mates are silver dollars and a black arowana in a 180g.. What does heater burn look like?

I also need to add that I have been starving them on and off for over a month to break them off of red worms so she is skinny!! I'm now feeding everyday to get her weight back up because this starving attempt failed. Could it be that I pushed to hard and her disc started deterioration a little?
Do you have a pic? Heater burn looks like a melting burn so i doubt it would be a small cylindrical hole. Is the whole through the hoel disk or how deep? On the edge ?

From my expierince rays disks heal very quickly, add some salt and feed the crap out of her for a while.
Suprised you are having a hard time getting marbles of of worms, one of the easiest for me to convert. did you try frozen krill?

I didn't try frozen krill, I've tried raw shrimp and slices of fish fillet. Even tried massivore delight... She eats only worms lol.. And she does gain weight on worms!!!
Try frozen krill had lots of luck with it, I think cause it is the entire animal and crustaceans are a big part of there diet in the wild.
I'm just stumped as to how she got this clean hole, no blood, no infection. I'm praying it won't get worse!!
