well I bought my baby red high-fin wolffish with a small lip rub (not a rub but were a very small piece of skin is missing... ) he is a very healthy fish and is VERY active never staying still... but now he has a small piece of skin hanging from his lip like when you rub or bite a small piece of you lip off... (just skin) and you just pull it off... that is what it looks like... I will post pics of it if needed (probably will anyways) just wondering if it might be serious, if I need to treat it, or will it heal on its own... it doesn't look bad and he doesn't even look phased about it and acts like it isn't there....

also... last night while feeding the gouramis in the tank (flakes) he started eating flakes to and spent a LONG time digging for them in the gravel and wondered if this is unusual or if this is common...

thanks,
Shane

im sure he will be fine, id like to see pictures of the little guy though, as of eating flakes, thats something i havent heard of (sounds like you got a pretty neat little fish on your hands!)

thank you, I still can't believe he eats flakes! What attracted me to him (besides this is literally the first wolffish I have ever seen in oklahoma and I wanted this specific species due to size and color) was the amount of gold scales he has.... more then any I have seen but I doubt it is the most of any....

I'm going to post some more pics....

oh yeah doesn't this species shoal? I could have sworn I have seen or heard that... if so what other species shoal if any? thank you

here are the pics...

nope, not salt water salt.

Aquarium salt would be best, if not - non iodised table salt. But not sea salt/marine salt.

Aquarium salt is usually available in fish shops, just called tonic salt or something for freshwater :)

I've used only salt with success against cuts and ich etc, never meds.
