I've lost count hany many times i've made this same mistake of buying to many tanks. This time i've downsized for the last time, I've lost track of just how many tanks and equipment i've spent good money on.Having just bought a pile and a pile at a boxing day blow out put it this way i made three trips filled the back of my jeep and my back seats out.Thinking hey if I don't have the room for more big tanks lets buy a whack of small ones bad idea ,all my time has been spent setting up homes for lizards ,frogs, snakes more fancy plecos i'm a plec addict. Now that it's been setup i've ran into the ahh! I'll clean it tommorrow problem , guess what tommorrow never comes .
Beggining of the end this last week has been crazy I'd decidded to downsize all my tanks and stay with the largest possible setups in hopes to make life simple again right now i'm waiting for the sealent to dry on a 29g frog vivarium for two fire belly toads and an dwarf african frog its going be nice no shortcuts any more that eliminates two tanks it will make things easier, I traded in my large fish and plecos except my Adonis hes small yet and my treasured sun cats they'll be sold when they grow big and have turned my 90g into a large community tank for for all my plecs and cats and a couple of opaline gouramis that were to aggressive in my 54 g comm tank 2 more tanks down and a lot less stress feeding .
Snakes have been moved into a two 33 g from tens makes things easier to keep clean my grass lizards and armadillo are in a 55 hex instead of seperate tanks a little nicer for them too more room and less cleaning for me.
there is an up side I have massives amounts of extra equipment and my two main fish tanks get the best equipment ,the frog tank will be a nice as a zoo exhibit also my snakes can act as they would in nature lots of cold area now instead of all warm and my food cost go down ,cleaning and more space and less flipping wires running all over the house blew my first fuse last week maybe everytime i leave the house I won't worry about electrical fires as much.
To make it short aside frome having too store boxes of tanks and equiptment it's well worth it , so before you get impulsive and think i can put a tank here and a tank up there think about the con's first ,rembember this is a hobby to be enjoyed and how can you enjoy it when all you do is spend to much time on small tanks , LARGER!! is better more to look at and less work also your tanks are more stable less problems with health issues.
Just my experiances from years of doing it the right way and slipping into that fuzzy realm of why did i buy that 10g think it out first and you will keep enjoying your fish for years to come ..
