Hi

i work in a FS and we have just taken delivery of about 30 or so small (2-3") peacock bass. They don't look too healthy - quite emaciated, very skinny and drab coloured.

They are in a 25 gallon tank that is part of a commercial 50 gallon system comprised of 2 tanks using sump filtration with 4 foam strainers for mech filtration, an activated carbon foam, bio media and a UV steriliser.

any tips on how to get them into a good (saleable) condition? what should i feed them? what infections are they prone to getting? any other ideas?

thanks

Start feeding BW...and feed them a lot.

Keep the temp high...they are prone to whitespot at this size.

Blood worms is the best for the little guys. Also stay on top of your water changes. They'll get better quicker & grow a lot faster. Good luck

I would feed them tons of bloodworms and anything else that they will eat. I'd also make sure that the tank stays warm. I've found that keeping them below 82ish will increase the number that don't survive by a lot. I try to keep them at about 84 when they're little.
