My peacock bass is approaching 2 inches. Right now he's on black worms. I think he's eating frozen blood worms that I throw in instead every other day but Im not sure. I've seen his belly big after but never actually saw him eat it. I have 5 feeders in the tank that were in there before him but he isn't eatInG or chasing them. I skipped feeding him for a couple days then tried chopped tilapia. But he doesn't seem interested. When can I make the switch to other frozen foods aside from blood worms. Should I just stick to the black worms and blood worms until he gets bigger? I have a 6 inch jack dempsey and a 5 inch silver aro in the tank too.20150901_225607.jpg

I always get mine on pellets as soon as I can, that's just me. I wouldn't starve them at that size though. Gangster has a thread on a good method he uses to switch from bloodworms to pellets you should look at that

But I've read that pellet training should wait until they are about 6 inches. So I wanted to beef him up.

I got mine on pellets at about 3". It took them over a month to go from 2" to 3". Once on pellets, they hit 6" in less than two months. Like bennifer said, I'd get them on pellets asap. If they still won't hit pellets after some trying, I found mine liked frozen krill and mysis shrimp too. bloodworms have a much lower nutritional value than a lot of other foods, so it's good to vary their diet
