Hi I go to a lake near where i live to find various fish, plants, driftwood, etc. for my aquariums and I have run across this plant here and I am unsure what it is. Any help identifying would be appreciated!

Thank you very much for the reply! I will look into hair grass maybe if not that then maybe something like it. I didnt even know where to start with identifying this.

Others may chime in with their opinions or a proper ID, but for me personally, i think it looks a lot like hair grass..

Any experience with this in aquarium? I looked that up it sounds about right its all over the lake along with the more abundantly populated moneywart.

What type of substrate do you use? I got these from a sandy substrate and have kept them in my 10 gallon tank that has a sand substrate but I added a few to my 75 gallon tank and I am using a small gravel type substrate. Any idea how these will hold up? Or advice on how to keep them healthy?

I use Eco-Complete gravel with mine. I do not use Co2, medium light. I'll dose with Seachem Flourish whenever I remember to. They would probably benefit from a root fertilizer

Thanks for sharing your setup! I mainly was concerned about the roots growing in a more “coarse” substrate than sand. So should be fine as long as I “know what I am doing” with nutrients lol (still learning here on plant care)
Well that sums it up for identification. I do have some more questions about this plant tho now that you all helped me identify it. Ill post in new thread about “hair grass”

Where do you live? It might be easier to pin down any plants that are in your locality.
