I am thinking of getting a 5-10 gallon planted tank. I want it to be HEAVILY planted. What fish could i put in here? I mean for life? Freshwater btw.

Dwarf puffers would do well in a 5 gal, and a pair could be kept in a 10. They love heavily planted tanks. Celestial pearl danios, sparkling gouramis, Dario dario, Pseudomugils, ember tetras, pygmy cories, honey gouramis are all excellent resident for a planted tank.

you could do a betta and group of dwarf cories.

I like the dwarf puffers, they might work

franksaquariums.com he always have interesting "nano" fish species you could just look it up and see what you like. I never have brought fish from that guy but his stock list is always fun to look/google at.

i have a feeling the puffers would like the plants to much...

i would recommend 3-4 otocinclus catfish.
then some tetras, rasbora or cardinals
maybe a dwarf gorami.
i wouldnt try to overcomplicate it with odd fish as this seems like it will be just amuch about the the plants as the fish.

Dwarf puffers don't eat plants, they use them as hiding/resting spots. They need a rather complex habitat to prevent boredom. It's possible to house otos with them.
