What is the smallest pond you have ever heard of, I want some natives and wondering what is the smallest pond you have ever heard of?
------------
Other than a few mosquito fish ,killies , small sunfish types I wouldn't think most Natives would do well in small ponds. The small sunfish do thrive if temp is good.
They breed well outside.
If you use plastic bins they work but you must bury them atleast 1/2 way down or they warp.
I have this one with fire mouth fry that someone from here is coming to pick up tonight and at less than 1/2 full its slightly warped however at one time I had it partially buried and worked great.
So if you opt for walmart bin which does offer more room than barrel, etc than partially bury it .
My wifes sister has a planted whiskey barrel "pond" in her front porch thats fantastic it contains 3 Evergaldes pygmy sunfish so plenty of room at 8 gallons .
Next time I am there will get pic .
Either way plastic bins work but partially bury them and let water sit than pour out every few days for 10 days or so just incase any chemicals.
I store all my fry in them for weeks sometimes and never had problem.
