What are some fishes that are small that shoal together in groups? Sometimes rosy reds do but they're ugly lol guppies scatter usually..I tried danios but they're fin nippers ! I have a 85 gallon long tank and would like to make a community tank ,thinking of what fishes might do well together

100 cardinal tetras would be amazing, for starters.

I like barbs, particularly tiger barbs in large groups they tend to just pick on each but depending on what else is in te tank they may nip fins.

Are those the red and blue striped ones? Are they fin nippers? I'm thinking about adding one male plakat betta fish ,so he'll be on top of the food chain and can there be like two different types of fishes that can shoal separately without any problems? Thanks though I'll look into it!

Barbus fasciolatus are very nice looking in large groups as well.

I just went through the same thing. I have 3 Gymnogeos, 2 blood parrots, 4 clown loaches.....so I added 20 neons and 6 Buenos Aires tetras. The BA tetras swim all over together as do the neons. Congo, Colombian, and Buenos Aires Tetras seem to shoal together. Or atleast in my tank the BA's do. By the way, Ive had the neons for about a week now and have yet to lose one. I was itold to go with cardinals as they are hardier, but couldnt find them in my area.

I have rummy nose tetras, blood fin tetra in my 40 community. I have 12 roselines and 10 giant danios in my 135. The rummy nose never leave each other lol. They're the best schooling fish for me.
