I have a marbled motoro with a tat, odoe pike, and vatf in a 150 acrylic. i noticed one snail about half the size of a pea a few weeks ago and removed it and now i see about 15. acrylic tanks attract algae quick and they seem to be eating the algae and not on the ray which i am most concerned about. Is there a medication to get rid of the snails or are they ok to keep?

I use to mind snails when i used cannisters just cause i didnt like them but really in my sump those small snails are just fine. keeps things kinda clean for the most part. so for me i dont mind at all anymore.

plus im not going to stress out the rays putting chems that for the most part will kill the ray if not careful so its not really worth the risk in the first place. if there are way too many chances are you are over feeding in the first place. snails can be controlled.

sweet. never had a snail infestation in a non native tank so i thought i had something to worry about but im glad i dont. thanks guys

Ya i'm begging for snails my motoros love um they spend all day digging them out of the sand and eating um its funny to watch. Plus at night they clear the bigger ones off the glass to.

I have some snails in my sump but none in my tank....the rays love them.

I think this is a very natural food for rays and if I do my fish room then I will breed some for certain.
