I don't know anything about rays so i'm not sure if this is a stupid question, are there any rays that would go in a 90g tank for life?

I always hate when the minimum tank size question is asked. Just totally torques me off! What do you suppose a minimum housing size question for you would be? Would you like to live in the minimum? Ok they produce alot of waste which is part of the housing requirnment needing to be big. Minimum probably a 125 but I don't think they would be very healthy long term being exposed to high levels of bad stuff. Probably a 180 is about as small as I would go for life even on the smaller species. I have retic's and Hystrix in a 500 with 180 sump. My big female retic is over 14 inch plus tail size and my hystrix is over 15 plus tail.

It annoys you when people want to provide proper care for their animals and are wondering what the minimum requirements are...?

I would be more focused on the footprint of the tank itself to be able to house a ray to start with.

Yes it annoys me! It probably shouldn't but it does. I think more than anything it is just the way the question is always phrased "minimum" like they want to put them in absolutly the bare minimum. I am sure thats not how it is meant but my god we see the same question at least once a week maybe even more often. And if they are asking for the minimum what in the world makes you believe they are wanting to provide the best care for their ray? And really instead of posting other questions about ray care or reading the stickies all that was asked was minimum tank size which leads me to believe that proper research is not being done. Just my .02 But thank you for jumping on my case I appreciate it. And I might possibly know a little bit about rays and know what I am doing.
