In one of my smaller tanks ive noticed there are quite a bit of small white worms on the glass. A buddy of mine said that they are there because of uneaten food in the gravel and they arent harmful to the fish. He says, just to clean the gravel everyday till they are gone. He also told me some aquarium salt would help. If hes right ill proceed as he instucted, if not, please lemme know what to do guys. As always, your advice is much appreciated.:)

if i put minnows in there they will be eaten lol, thnx for the help though.

i had that problem also, i also added salt but i couldnt add alot cause i had plecos in my tank and then the worms some how changed or evolved into sperm looking things and now theres small white worms on the glass and sperm looking things wriggling around!! i think im going to remove the plecos and add more salt

put in a bit methylene blue and they will be gone in 2 to 3 days, your prob feeding your fish too much food thats how ya get them.also your friend is right they will not harm your fish

Thnx for the help guys. Ive been vaccuming daily and watching the feedings more closely and ive noticed a huge change in the number of them. Thanks for the help!

sorry just another noob question, i do also have this little white "sperm" wrigglering around in my tank but i got more white "dot" sticking on my tank glass. i use to scrab it off the tank but it will come back after few days. Any solution as i believe those must be the 'eggs'??? :irked:

They are planaria worms. They are not harmful. Just cut down on feeding and vacuum your gravel more often and sooner or later they will go away.
