Hey all -
Thinking of doing a 6' long, 15" x 15" acrylic tank, possibly as a river theme. The current plan is to drill one floor hole at each end for riser tubes/drain ports to a 20/30 gallon sump with wet/dry, with a return in the central area. (Would be overflow boxes with a bulkhead, but with the tubes running straight down rather than behind the tank, it's going to be in a place where the space behind is limited to non-existent.)
I was thinking of making it out of .354 acrylic (Most likely cell cast), but the height calculator available in the stickies suggest .591 instead for the height. I am intending on putting a top brace butted up against each end, 2" wide, with another 2 2" pieces near the center to support two 36" led strips.
Is the .354 thickness okay with the bracing, or do I need to do the thicker acrylic?
John
