my tank (9'10" x 2' 7"x 2'7" / 300x80cmx80cm)

in tank is hoplarchus pssitacus, jaguar cichlid (pair), pseduplatystoma, crenicichla lenticulata (pair), will be one more big catfish.

I want to take cichla piquiti for example (or another smaller ones). Is it possible to have pair in my tank? or only one? or maybe group of them?

so roughly close to a 10'x2.5'x2.5' i reckon you can do it.. the pair of cichlids you have in there already may be of a conern and the big cat/s, but you have a big enough tank to make it work.. IMO try it out and just provide some cover i.e drift woods, fake or real plants and some floating plants..

but try what?:)

group (like 5)? or pair? or one?

probably I can buy piquti/s around 14-16"

what is the max size of piquiti?

thanks

Piquitis are also referred to as Azuls, so if you do a search on here youll have a lot of your questions answered.. i dont know too much about them since ive never owned that sp of cichla before but i do know they get slightly larger than monos so a tad over 24" maybe 26" and with good girth too..
if i were you id get 5, only cause i love pbass lol :D

a group definitely.
they do better in groups.
more than 4.
besides, once you get one, you'll just keep getting more and more.:naughty:
azuls, piquiti, arent one of the smaller ones.
smaller ones include kelberi, mono, ocell, intermedia and orino.
