???Smaller version of aro????

Well, here goes a stoopid question, but I've been reading here and recommended other sites:
The arowana/jardini species are so awesome, beautiful and graceful, but get
so freakin' big!!!! If I were in a real house I would go for one, but I'm in a
"quilted metal box" aka mobile home. I would really like to get an aro-type
fish, but something that won't get quite so monstrous. Sounds like an
oxymoron, I know, but I just thought it was worth a shot. Even the jardini
get too big. Any ideas out there, or am I just SOL??? Or defeating the purpose?

i think your out of luck....but what tank are you gonan put a jardini in? they don't get that big compared to the silver arowana....

Arowanas all get big. I recommend Golden Wonder Killifish for a very small pike shaped fish that are still cool. They don't have the big scales and don't eat other fish, but they are still fun to watch.

my Killi's have eaten small fish, neons, danios, baby livebearers, etc..., they also get earthworms and crickets every week.

For a small tank, I'm afraid the only Osteoglossids (bony tongues) that will fit are the butterfly fish (Pantodon) and the goldeneye (Hiodon). The 5 more commonly known species require 200 to 300 gals and up for life.
