With all the hypotheticals that we seem to discuss i thought this could be fun and creative.

I was in one of my lfs looking at some of the smaller community tropical fish and it got me thinking, what’s a small community/tropical fish you wish got huge? Something that could be in a monster tank.

For me I would really love to have 4-5 redtail black sharks that hit 12+ inches, I think that’d be awesome in a 300+ aquarium.

For me it would be Convict Cichlids. They don't get as big now, but if I they were a monster fish that could support all their bullying with the size and strength to back it up, I can't imagine. I was actually just thinking about this a few months or so back when I had to take my Convict back due to it being hyper-aggressive towards my fish who were 2-3 times bigger than it was :nilly:....

Imagine a 12 inch betta... I guess that’s what giant gouramis are for!

I definitely agree with convicts. One of those the size of an Oscar would be unstoppable. I’m hoping the bp x cons I’m trying to make act like big convicts.

It would be cool if a lot of the various tetras came large. So many good colored ones that would make such good dithers if they were even 2-3 inches bigger.

From what I've heard of that mix ,they seem to act more like BP's and just look have the colors of the Convict. That's what a friend of mine had told me regarding her Polar Blue Convict Parrot.

Polar blues are actually just short body convicts.
This is a thread with a true bp con:

Convicts don't need to be Monster size lol.
Actually they can hold their own with some of the larger aggressive Cichlid especially when paired off and defending eggs, wriggler's, or free swimming fry. I personally know was bit by a female pink Convict protecting her babies lol.
