Rays can go with reef fish, given that the fish are compatible and large enough to avoid being eaten. Avoid any Angels, Butterflies, Triggers, Puffers, and Lions because of their nature to pick on sharks and rays.
As for tank size, the smallest of rays shouldn't be kept in any tank under a 180 (72" x 24" x 24"), smallest being the Cortez Ray (Urobatis maculatus). Although you could keep the ray in your 120g for a while, depending on the species and the growth speed of that particular species.

But keep in mind that rays need alot of swimming room - which is something that tends to be in fairly short supply in a reef tank.
