Lol. All cichla are open water predators and need alot of swimming room
 
The thing is ALL pbass are capable and likely if fed right and have clean water to eventually get over two feet they can will and do stay managable for a number of years one good thing as they increase in size they slow down somewhat !!! when they feed always shocking to see just how fast they can move they are Beautiful and Exiting to keep just be prepared for growth spurts and a tank at least 24 deep +++ if you plan on keeping this species for a while and for it to stay enjoyable for you and the fish........

It's just a normal short body mono. As for the "smallest" pbass to keep in tank, expect 24'' for any pbass on the market now.
