May I know what is the smallest Tortoise species available in the trade? Or at least among the smallest that you know of? Thank you for your time.:)

If you can get your hands on some get a Kleinmann's Tortoise, also known as Egytian Tortoise. Stay really small. Saw them alot back in the day but, not as available anymore.

i believe elevate is right russians are small and more commonly available then other small sizes also hermans arent too bad either when it comes to size...

Also try greek and pancake tortoises. two of the smaller species. I had a russian years ago that was awesome. would follow me around in the backyard walking from one end of his pen to the next (I live in Florida so he stayed out back). Some schmuck stole him though.

think they are quite hard to get now (they are here) as they are really endangered. Most zoos have captive breeding programmes with them because of it. They are great little torts, but i think it will a) make you pay through the nose if b) you can even get them.

Greeks and Herman tortoises are good. They are available as captive bred babies as well as wild caught adults, and they are pretty inexpensive. They, like the russians, max out at around 8" or smaller
