Smallest whale shark in recorded history rescued:

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
dont they have whale sharks at the shedd aquarium. it would be pretty cool if they had captured a juvie that small for their display. i wonder what the growth rate would be? a couple of feet a mounth. talk about a monster!

its really good that it was rescued because on that particular province people eat whale sharks

Actually there's only a very few Public Aquariums in the world that are capable of keeping a Whale Shark. As Matt stated - the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta is only one in the US. There's another one in Japan - that has a nearly mature adult whale shark.

But this is the smallest Whale sharks - ever kept in captivity. All others have been at least 3 meters (near 10ft) or more, when they were captured. But this little whale shark - may give public aquarists some insight into the requirements for recently born juveniles.
