Histrix stay between 15-20"ish, and what size ray are you planning on buying?, because a teacup and an adult will vary greatly in cost.

retics get to 18" and have very long tails.... hystrix or scobina would be the smallest and very expensive and hard to find....

agree but i havent seen any in person that lived to be that big.

retics that i have seen so far, but if you have bad luck with them, then i would have to say motoros because they are known to be more hardy than retics. motoros that i have seen run anywhere from 125-500 depending on size and patterns. retics are only 40-70 but if they keep dying on you then in the long run motoro is the way to go.
