smell

its really weird but i have a weird smell coming from my 55 gal and i dont know how to get rid of it i dont know whats wrong so if anyone can help thanks

What does it smell like? Sounds like you need a tank cleaning.

Do water changes like he said. I do water changes at least once a week or more, and rinse my filters onces a wk and change them every month. Wow run on sentence. its ok im drinking

As stated above, ...water changes are key. If your bioload is a bit high. or you're feeding alot of FD shrimp then, adding chemi-pure or carbon will help in combatting the smell along with the WCs.

thanks ill do a water change tomorrow and i forgot how much water to take out and i have this stuff for cleaner water but i forgot that to as you can see i dont do it that often

if its a 55g tank i would do like a 20g change and just and stress coat to the new water going in. I wouldn't add any cleaners just changing water and sponging your walls should be good.

alright and i have this stain in the glass and i tried this stuff called goof off and it goes away for like a second but thencomes right back i bought this tank used and it was a great deal but this is the only problem and im starting the water change now thanks for your guys input

I have a decoration that holds water and smells when removed from my tank. No longer use it

the smell is gone away now thank you everyone and now the next step is to get this smudge or stain off the glass ay ideas how to do that
