Just started my Leo's on pellet food.
It's only been 3 days and I noticed that my tank water is starting to smell different.
Before my tank water used to smell just a little like a wet dog.
Not all the time, just when it gets humid out side. Otherwise, I couldn't smell the tank at all.
But now, even not being humid out, tank smells alot different. I can't smell it in the room, until I take the covers off. Just like B4.

B4 pellets , I was feeding them frozen fish.
Freshwater and salt water fish.

I just backwashed the ultima. I'll see if that cleans it up.

There is some old food left in the tank, but it's dust. Can't even pick it up with a net.

What do you think, feeding too much?
Or do they need more time to get used to eating pellets, to take the whole thing.
Maybe that's just the way pellets smell?

which kind of food? that might be the cause.

New Life Spectrum. Mixed with chopped nightcrawlers. They eat the nightcrawlers right away

Is it Thera A formula NLS? If so the added garlic will leave an odor. I noticed that when feeding it.

seems like certain batches of TheraA smell more than others. In which case, alternate days between that & regular formula.

Good idea
Thanks
It does kinda smell like garlic.
Smell gone now. Must have been the backwash and the 90 gals. I just changed out.

I thought the plants in my sump would have taken care of different smells in the tank. I guess, not garlic.
