Anyone go smelting yet this year? If so how did it go? We're going tonight hopefully it's a good time.

Where are you going? I went last weekend with a friend and his buddy. We caught about 20 each, and a few yellow perch. Went later in the week for work. Both places on the Kennebec. Seems to be hit or miss.

We went on the Kennebec over in Pittston at Bakers. It was a good time but we got skunked. Not a single fish. Maybe next time.
I hasn't heard any smelt reports in Minnesota yet as the fishing has been slow but hopefully the smelts will being biting next month!
Bummer! It's often one of those "You should have been here yesterday" deals. I went there on saturday the 5th, we caught about 60 fish between the 3 of us. One camp at the opposite end said they had a couple hundred. If you come over that way again, give me a shout. I live less than a mile down the road from Bakers.
