My House!
Hi all! I just seen something I didn't know was possible! A snail cruising around on the underside of the waters surface!

I have a little tank in my spare room that I've been growing duckweed in for a friends pond, I also have a couple of pond snails (I think they are) in there to keep the algae at bay and provide the duckweed with food.

I went in to check my duckweed and noticed these two doing this!:

Lol they do that sometimes. :)

I'd never seen it until today. I'm guessing that'd be because all of my other tanks have filters and bubble wands and what not breaking the surface tension and this one doesn't...

Could they do it in my other tanks with the filters etc breaking the surface or only if the surface is calm/still? :)

Like you stated that is why the snails could do the surface skimming no movement.

Not uncommon for smaller pond snails, they eat the crud film that forms on the surface.

Hello; I have seen it a few times in 50 + years, not many.

By the way I enjoyed your long post in the "losing interest " thread. I think you got a red letter response (or maybe I did).

I don't have any snails that do it now, depends on the type. They mostly do it n calm water. Some do it more than others.
