So I spoted 2 snails on a piece of driftwood in my planted tank. I was just wondering if these will start to eat my plants. I have Anubia, Sword, and taiwan moss is on the way here.

From my exp, the answer is yes. What type of fish do you have in the tank?

I have snails that look like that and they never touch the plants. If anything they just help to remove algae.

ditto ... couple of snails is no big deal ...

Thanks guys,
mine didn't bother the plants either(at least not yet). I guess I'll just leave them in till I see se real damages.

You could always grab a few assassin snails from MsJinxd (MFK vendor). They will attack and kill pest snails, then go about their normal lives eating detritus and other leftovers.

Keep an eye out on the snails, they reproduce like rabbits. I have a 30 gallon in which I had the same thing happen as you. I have no live plants tho. But, I left them in there and recently got rid of the fish in there and now notice- two months ago I saw 2 snails, now I have about 30. The snails in my tank have more cone looking shells, but I'm fairly certain most snails reproduce rapidly. As long as they are not eating your plants, I would leave them, just keep an eye that they don't get out of control.

I've read a little bit about assassin snails also. If the snail get out of control I will know how to control them. Thanks.

That looks like a common bladder snail. Mine only eat dead plants and stray food. Harmless aside from over-populating if they get a hold of too much nutrition.
