if the tank is small and you dont want clown loaches, my botia modesta eats'em up really quick. they can be aggressive to smaller fish but he's doing good in a 55 with a 2" pleco and 3 1" glass fish. also, i discovered my 4 female bettas whoop up on some snails!

it is a 29! no clowns! something smaller, and not aggressive. that i'd have to worry about cuz my cories beat it to the food

you could have made your 29 gallon for some really small dwarf puffers only tank...and when you have a snail problem they can have a free buffet. But everything else that eats snails would be aggressive to your cories

have you thought of botia kubotai or botia striata? Both will clen up the snails, and only get about 4 inches. I've also heard of a few dwarf botia that stay smaller.....

Go to www.loaches.com/species-index They have info on several types of loaches, and also tells which enjoy eatting snails.

I've had plenty of loaches over the years and found it seems to be up to individuals whether they eat snails or not, or maybe even the species of snails you have. Some will some won't, my advice- don't get a loach unless you want a loach and remove them manually.

i cant remove them manually! they all start small and lay eggs! then they get big enough to remove manualy! but then they have multiplies 10 fold and it keeps happening! i want something to eat'em

to bad their isnt a plant/fish safe sail remover that works that u can just bomb the tank.... buy a GSP and toss im into the tank for a month and remove them and sell him back.
