snail explosion help

ive got a brackish tank ive had for a long time. just recently i found a few snails i had never seen before. a fewdays later i noticed that they were everywhere. there are 1000's of em. im curious first what i can do to thin their numbers. and if and snails are parasitic, i ask this because just as the snails arrived a moray eel of mine died. all other fish aok and water params fine. is it possible the snails came from inside the eel and killed him when born. the snails are spiral shelled. i posted a pic in my photo gallery if that helps.

any input would be appreciated

no those snails are fine to have and yes they procreate veay fast but not harmful. if i can think of the name i post it. but i have/ had those snails in my freshwater tank for years.

Put net in tank.
put piece of cucumber in net.
wait for cuke to be covered with snails.
remove from tank.
repeat.

You wont get them all but you can keep them in check.

Get a gsp, see snails disappear, watch puffer get fat. Problem solved.

how do these guys just appear in aquariums all of a sudden

They can come in very small on just about anything. plant, substrate, fish any thing you get out of someone else tank and put in yours.
