Snail for my tank?

I was just wondering, i don't really have any cleaner fish in my tank and wanted to know if i could just get 1 snail and put him in there to help clean up a bit. I'm not asking for my tank to be spotless but was just wondering if it was worth it?

Snails may only eat some algae off the walls of the tank but more then likely they will make more a mess (pooping) then actually cleaning.

What size tank? tANK mates?

55g Green Terror, 2 Bichirs, might add some dither fish for a bit to get the GT more comfortable ( hes new)
