Medway Me.
I want a big snail for a 100 gal oscar tank. Not only to clean but I like snails. But everyone I get Oscar just eats them!:irked: I need something big enough so he wont bother it. Any suggestions?

Hello
Even if he can't eat it, he'll probably smash it. (That is, assuming the Oscars are 3/4 to fully grown.)
The large Apple Snails are big enough as not to be gulped, but I don't know how long they'd last.

I had 2 big apple snails in my 100 gallon tank that were never bothered my my oscar. But when I put one in my Jag's tank, he picked it up and smashed against the side of the tank and killed it. I guess it depends on the fish you have. Good luck with whatever you do.

either way they will eventually smash the snail even big apple snails. Especialy when your not looking than when you catch them in the act they look like innocent little puppies lol

Throw 20 or 30 MTS in there. The oscar may eat them (or try - they're tyough) but there will likely always be more, hiding the the gravel, and mopping up the tnak at night.

MTS are a great snail. Although, they may become fatal for the oscar.
